The news report from Shepherd Smith, said that states had various actions against Equifax for letting the financial data of half the country get into the hands of hackers, but then the feds at DOJ swept in to handle it all. The result was a settlement of $700 million, (25% of one year’s annual revenues for Equifuk, if I recall from the story.) Well, of that $700 million $30 million goes to the actual victims.
Shepherd Smith was not amused. Who would be?
